Communications Minister
Ava Wasserman is married to James Wasserman, and together they have a daughter, Clara James, and a springerdoodle named Dewey. Their family moved to Georgetown in June 2024. Originally from Minnesota, Ava moved to South Carolina in 2016 to attend Coastal Carolina University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Geography with a minor in Marketing.
Ava enjoys serving others through volunteer work. After graduating, she spent two months in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas, volunteering in disaster relief after Hurricane Dorian, assisting with local roof rebuilds and repairs. Locally, she now organizes a moms group in Georgetown County to support women in the early postpartum days and create connections across all stages of motherhood.
Ava uses her professional experience in website management, marketing, and administrative work to design websites for local business owners and to serve on the Prince George Winyah communications team.
