The Rev. Dr. John Barr and I (with Laura and Ellen) plan to lead a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in April 2027. All the information regarding the journey including how to register for the trip and trip expenses are in the flyer. These are available now from the welcome table at the church entrance on Sunday’s or on the table near Lisa’s office in the Bourne Building during the week.

We have an absolute limit of 28 persons for traveling. Twelve persons from PGW or John Barr’s parish have said they plan to go. So, today there are 16 spaces left. These spaces are reserved for the PGW family until Monday, June 22. So, first dibs goes to you. :) After that, John and I will promote the pilgrimage at this year’s Renewal Retreat to be held later in June.

It seems always to be the trip of a lifetime for those who make this pilgrimage—walking in the steps of Jesus. If this opportunity is something the Lord is speaking to you about, I would love to have you join us. John Barr as our chaplain will be exciting. Meanwhile, we will keep a close eye on safety and security. We will not journey if the trip is deemed unsafe.

Our theme is Rainforest Falls where we will explore the nature of God! What better place to do that than our wonderful Plantersville location?!

Get your kids ready for a downpour of delight! Rainforest Falls is filled with awesome Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, and touch! Hands-on science experiments, team-building games, unforgettable Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and sturdy shoes.)

Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings®. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!

We have scheduled an Information Meeting on Monday, May 11, at 5:30 pm, on the 2nd floor of the Bourne Building, to share details about next year's trip to the Holy Land, discuss safety concerns, and to assist you in making an informed decision about whether to sign up for the trip. It is an exciting itinerary, as you will discover soon. This special opportunity is limited to a maximum of 18 folks from PGW.

Joining us for the meeting will be Mr. Tony Abuaita of Good Shepherd Travel. Tony travels to Israel regularly and works closely with our Israel connections for this trip, Issa and Elias Gharib of Grace Tours, Bethlehem. Of course, if it is not deemed safe traveling to Israel 12 months from now, we will not make the trip. In the meantime, we are hopeful and optimistic about this special opportunity.

Then, immediately following the worship service, we will all gather for our Parish Picnic. The church will provide fried chicken and drinks, and members are asked to bring salads, side dishes, and desserts. Please SIGN UP to help us plan. (Families with last names A-H, please sign up for a salad to share; I-P side dishes and Q-Z desserts. Enter your food item in the comment section when you sign up. There is no electricity to keep items warm or cold, so please plan accordingly.)

There will also be a dedicated play area for the children with staff supervision. 

Our kids will share their experience and WMI's global mission as part of our Quarterly Mission Focus, at Sunday Adult Education on May 17th, immediately following the 9 am Youth Sunday Service. Please plan to attend!

The following week, on February 25, our Wednesday Lenten series begins at noon with an abbreviated Eucharist in the sanctuary, followed by a soup and salad lunch in the upstairs of the Bourne Building and then a short video teaching series. Then there will be intercessory prayer after that.

Over the five-week series, we will reflect on one of the following questions during each session: Do our lives really matter? Why can't we always have what we want? What does it mean to have a relationship with God? What are we really doing with our time? Do we try so hard to live a perfect life that we miss out on how to truly live?

Please join us during this season of Lent as we reflect on the purpose of our lives and our relationship with God.

Whether you visit the website or sign up for the daily emails, we hope this will provide you with another tool for your spiritual journey. In addition, there are copies of the Trinity School for Ministry 2026 Lenten devotionals, which include reflections and scripture readings for the season, available after worship at our newcomers' welcome table.

Lent can be a beautifully reflective time for us to quiet our hearts, anticipate Christ’s sacrifice for us, and embrace the hope that his death and resurrection represent. It’s a time of self-examination, praye,r and simple living, pondering life in this valley of tears while also envisioning the new, vibrant life Christ offers, which empowers us to be repairers of the breach. We do this out of gratitude for the greatest breach that has been repaired in us, the sin from which we have been forgiven by God’s grace in Christ.

We will gather for Eucharist, camp games, property tours, live music, and a fine meal. Everyone is asked to bring a chair and a side dish or dessert to share. Please register by clicking the link. We also ask you to please carpool as parking is limited. Festivities will begin at 1:00 pm.
