Throughout the month of August, the Children’s Ministry invites our church family to take part in a heartfelt outreach: the Angel Tree Project, supporting the children and young adults at the Lamb Institute orphanage in Honduras. This is a beautiful opportunity to help ensure that every child there experiences the joy and love of Christmas.

Fifty Christmas tags—each with a child’s name, photo, and wish list—are available for adoption. The children range from toddlers to teens (ages 2–17), and a few young adults with physical or intellectual disabilities (ages 18–25) also call the Lamb Institute home. As Tracy Morris, Director of PGW’s Children’s Ministry, shares, these older residents are lovingly cared for by the Tias (“aunts” in Spanish), and long‑term arrangements are in place to support them throughout their lives.

Thanks to the generosity of the PGW Women and the Historic Tours, Tracy has already purchased Christmas stockings for each child. Church members are asked to return the stocking gifts to Tracy’s Christian Education classroom (3–7 year olds) in the Bourne Building by September 1.

If shopping isn’t your preference, you may also make a financial donation. These contributions help purchase gifts for any unclaimed tags and assist with shipping costs.

In September, Tracy will personally deliver the filled stockings to the children during PGW’s upcoming mission trip—your kindness will be placed directly into their hands.

Angel Tree cards will be available every Sunday in August on the Visitors’ Welcome Table at the front of the church. We encourage you to stop by, choose a child, and help us share Christ’s love in a tangible way.
