Prince George Winyah Parish 300th Anniversary Book of Common Prayer Heritage Lenten Lecture Series

Sarah Parker Lumpkin in her book Heritage Passed On writes, “The Book of Common Prayer was one of the main reasons the Anglican Church survived in America during the early years.” Prince George is pleased to announce that this year’s Wednesday night Lenten teachings will be a series of lectures on the Anglican heritage of worship in the Book of Common Prayer tradition. The lecture series is being offered in honor of our 300th Anniversary. It will trace the development of the Book of Common Prayer from the first edition of 1549 to the edition of 2019 that we use in our church today. The first four will be published on our YouTube channel every Wednesday beginning on February 24th and the last lecture on March 24th will be a special live Zoom event.
