“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” – 1 Peter 4:10
At Prince George Winyah, we believe that every act of service, whether visible or behind the scenes, is an offering of worship to God. Our parish life thrives through the dedication of members who give their time and gifts to enrich our services, care for one another, and extend Christ’s love to all.
Greeters and Ushers
Greeters and ushers embody hospitality by welcoming parishioners and visitors and helping ensure service flows smoothly.
If you are interested in serving as a greeter, please contact Mary Smith.
If you are interested in serving as an usher, please contact Tom Rowland.
Acolytes
The acolytes of the church are young people from 6th grade to 12th grade. They begin serving as flag and torch bearers and progress to crucifers and mentors to the younger acolytes.
If you would like to serve as an Acolyte, please contact Mary Ann Coker.
Lay Ministry
This ministry is trained and licensed by the Anglican Diocese of SC to take communion to parish members at their homes, nursing facilities, or hospitals. When scheduled by Pastoral Care or one of the clergy, pre-consecrated communion is taken and shared with the family of PGW when needed.
For information about training, please email Ryan Landes.
The Altar Guild is a group of church members who prepare the altar and place the linens, silver, and elements in the appropriate places for communion services, funerals, baptisms, and weddings.
Please contact Nonie Carraway if you would like to serve as an Atlar Guild.
Funeral & Wedding Guild
These guilds offer compassionate service and hospitality to families during life’s most significant moments. Volunteers assist with service preparations, receptions, and care for guests.
If you would like to serve as a funeral guild, please contact Virginia Dugan (843) 833-0214.
Choir & Praise Team
Members of the Choir and Praise Team lead the congregation in hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs, offering their voices in praise to God.
Please contact Jeremy Vause if you are interested in joining the Choir and Praise Team.
Prayer Team
Many parishioners receive confidential prayer requests through email as the need arises. Each member has the responsibility of praying on their own time and in their own way.
Nursery Volunteers
Nursery volunteers are compassionate individuals who commit to caring for children ages 0-36 months, at least four Sunday mornings a year.
Please contact Kellee Krofka if you are interested in volunteering in the nursery.
