Maundy Thursday Service

This poignant liturgy tells of the instituting of the Lord’s Supper, a re-enactment of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples, and the stripping of the altar. The stripping is a symbolic visual of the mistreatment of our sacred space—the sanctuary and the communion table—to recall the mistreatment that Jesus suffered following his arrest that evening after the Last Supper.
